Rockwell Rk9003
I received the rk9003 today and took it out of the box . When I went to slide the jaw; it slide rather tight. So after looking it over I got out my mallet and did some pounding on the places I thought was binding. After some pounding and lubricant it freed up quite well. I was thinking about sending it back; the way its working now its a keeper. I also got it for a very good price. I got it for under a $150 and now its over $200 with shipping. I looked it over and the only plastic I saw on this model was the lock and unlock switch. Maybe I just missed it I'm not sure. If anybody else has any experience with this new model I would like to read about it. The reason for only 4 stars was because of the messing around to get it working more smoothly. I guess the way things are made today I should be happy.

Love it. Hold big or heavy objects, like having a 3rd hand around. ROCKWELL RK9000 JAWHORSE
I have some rental properties and I manage some fix-up and renovation work by myself without 3rd hand. From time to time, I run into situations that need another pair of hands to hold stuff for me. I have a portable working bench with vise. But the vise is too weak to hold heavy objects, or wide objects. And my portable bench wobbles.
I am so glad to find this jawhorse from Amazon. Majority of the jawhorse are built with metal, only few non-load-bearing components are plastic. It is not only heavy duty, but also very heavy. But that's the good part, its weight helps to keep thing stable.
The clamping mechanism is a smart design. I can use both hands to position the object and then use one feet to step on the pedal to clamp the object. And the clamping power is great.
When not in use, this jawhouse can be folded down for easy transportation or storage as it really does not take up too much space.
In summary, this is a great investment if you need to work on large objects that won't fit in the typical bench vise, or you need additional hands.

What Can You Do With the Portable Rockwell Jawhorse Clamping Workstation?
What Can You Do With the Portable Rockwell Jawhorse Clamping Workstation?
Every handyman eventually faces the problem of having to hold a large, heavy piece of lumber in place and then cut or drill it, etc. Unless you have a helper you can find it hard to hold the material and the tools at the same time. So you end up balancing the heavy object on the sawhorses and hoping it doesn't move when you start working on it. What you really need is a good way to support it and lock it in position at the same time. You may be lucky and have a nice workbench with a vise in your workshop, but if you are like most handyMen, you don't have that luxury and even if you did, you would probably have Jobs that required you to work away from your shop.

What you need is a good stable sawhorse that has a built-in vise made to hold heavy and bulky items securely. This must be what the folks at Rockwell thought too. They offer a solid steel sawhorse with a foot pedal operated vise jaw. They call it the Jawhorse.
The Jawhorse is a tripod base sawhorse that will hold up to 600 lbs. and has a powerful jaw that applies over a ton of force. The jaws on the vice open to 37 in. and can be tightened with your foot, leaving your hands free to steady the object and to actually work on it. The Jawhorse comes fully assembled and folds up for east transport and storage.
There are several accessories that convert the Jawhorse into a variety of workstations.
The plywood attachMent is designed to secure a sheet of plywood horizontally on the Jawhorse. If you are planning to do any work involving sheets of plywood you will want to order this accessory with your new Jawhorse. The miter saw platform holds a miter saw and comes with two rollers to support long pieces of wood that you might cut. Great if you do much cutting with a miter saw. A worktable attachMent provides a larger work surface that can clamp your project in place. I find this to be a great accessory because there are so many ways to use it. The welding workstation helps hold metal objects in position for welding. I'm not a welder, but if I were this looks like a great Jawhorse accessory. Another attachMent is the log jaws, which make holding small logs in place a breeze. So if you are doing some repAirs to your log fence, or just cutting up firewood or a fallen branch, you can hold it steady while you cut it. There are many uses for the Rockwell RK9000 Jawhorse workstation and it will soon become like your own personal assistant who is there to hold things for you while you work on them.
